Skating News: Placements for Events July 25-29, 2008 US Roller Figure Skating Nationals

Morning Skating Fans,

This past weekend we were treated to an array of children, teen and beginner events which were interesting from the standpoint of where the sport is going. This year skaters were allowed if they qualified to challenge up to the next level event at Nationals. It created some interesting placements.

A couple interesting events were the new International Solo Dance where we are beginning to see how this event is changing into a show dance event with strong competition, and the Creative A Solo Dance where Meshy Fischelsohn, who won the gold in her first year in this division, revisited her crowd pleasing Froggy character with a new program and inventive footwork. Also the first year team Star Shine from Massachusetts in the Senior World Class Precision Event captured the Bronze Medal and the opportunity to compete at the World Precision Skating Championships along with Gold Medallists, In Sync from  Glendale, CA and Silver Medallists Brookpark Team Elite from Brookpark, OH.
