Mornin’ Coffee: Podcast & Portable Media Expo Starts Friday Sept 29
Morning Blog-fans! After several days away from the home-pod, I had several hours of postings and pictures to peel off the various cameras and put up online. Email was over 150 messages and I’m still sifting through some of those. So if you’re waiting for a reply, either re-mail me, or wait a day. Important Reminder: Next week Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30 is the Portable Media Expo at the Ontario Convention Center, in Ontario, CA. The Good News is admission to the show and exhibit hall is FREE, and you can register online now. There is an entire set of FREE presentations and events that are going to be going on in the convention center, as well as the conferences, which require a paid registration. It’s worth noting that:
On Friday: 2:15pm – 3:15pm: Live recording of a special edition of Twit with Leo Laporte and Company will take place. TWiT is one of the most popular podcasts in the world, features tech luminaries in a roundtable discussion of the latest trends in high tech. Winner of “People’s Choice Podcast” and “Best Technology Podcast” in the 2005 People’s Choice Podcast Awards. Released every Sunday at midnight Pacific.
For those of you coming out, there are a ton of great exhibitors from Adobe to Ultimate Ears who will be showing their new and current ware’s in the hall. The thing I like about this show is it’s a manageable size. Most of the exhibitors and conference speakers are totally accessible. Also the conferences are normally worth the money, if you’re in the learning mode and “need to know.” The show doesn’t promote a lot of PR-Talks, which is a nice change of pace where you’ll learn something. For those of you who really Need-to Know on Thursday, Podcasting and Video for the Professional will take place:
In association with the Podcast and Portable Media Expo we are presenting Podcast Academy 4 on Thursday, September 28, 2006, in Ontario, California. The focus: corporate/commercial podcasting and video for pros and consultants. It’s the cutting-edge stuff. This one-day event has been specifically designed to complement, not duplicate, the learning opportunities offered at the Expo. This is good stuff.
If you’re coming out or have a press release you want reviewed for publication, send me a comment! As a member of the legit media we do honor embargos. You’re name won’t be posted publicly. We are considering getting together for a lunch or dinner one of the nights– tell us what night is your preference and we’ll find a local place to eat!
