Mornin Coffee: Or Why I Left Medicine
Couple days ago I was enlightened to hear about Dr. Chris Rangel’s: RangelMD.com Grand Rounds of the Medical Blogosphere. Doc Rangel gets to the crunch of the matter with a considerable amount of straight talk about our ever crumbling healthcare system.
While in the process of reading Rangel’s side, I ran into– er Googled into another virtual
gold mine of information about healthcare for the public education and edification… Dr. Bob over at "Doc is in Blog" has written a multi-part series on what it’s like to be a physician in today’s climate. He’s a real hero for speaking up.
So get a cup of coffee, click the links below and be prepared to learn far more than they taught you in school. To date here is my list of "required reading" by Dr. Bob:
This is a part of an ongoing series on medical coding, billing, and reimbursement.
- Part 1–Intro & Procedural Coding
- Part 2–E&M Coding
- Part 3–ICD-9 (Diagnosis) Coding
- Part 4–Federal Compliance Programs
- Part 5–Federal Compliance Penalties
- Part 6–Managed Care
- Part 7–Is There an Exit? – Part I
This series explains in a why I could never verbalize or explain why I left being a healthcare administrator who actually cared about our patients. God speed Dr. Bob. You’re soooo on target!
